GMail is being turned into a Web Office solution

Google is clearly aiming to enter the Web Office space.

There’s an interesting article on ZD/Net entitled “GMail code hints at coming domain feature“.

It looks like Google is going to start providing a hosted Web Email solution that gives you the ability to customize the domain, and even the look and feel of Gmail.

Thus, you can use Gmail as a replacement for your Exchange / Outlook or Lotus Notes powered office email.

With integrated IM, and all the benefits of a thin client is a virus free environment, big companies are going to flock to a solution like this. Very interesting.
