AJAX Badge Logo - V2 - Open Source
One of the comments on Digg said they liked the idea of an AJAX Badge, but thought the first logo was ugly. I think they might be right. The first one wasn’t so much a logo as a diagram element. So, here’s a second cut at a logo. If you come up with something different, please send it to me. I’ll be happy to post it on the site.
Once again, here is the SVG file. AJAX Badge Logo V2 You can edit it in Inkscape.
A call to action
Why am I doing this? I’m currently leading an effort to build out an enterprise blogging solution for a firm of 130,000. I want to make AJAX Badge technology available to my end users. The idea is awesome, and sites like 3bubbles prove that you will be able to do all sorts of interesting things with AJAX badges. The problem is that currently the badges require end users to be able to edit the blog templates. Most of my end users are not that technical. Ideally, we would like to be able to encapsulate the AJAX badges into plug-ins for MovableType or WordPress or SocialText. Then, using a WYSIWYG blog/Wiki editor, the end users would then only have to press a button to insert any one of a number of badges into their blog and wiki posts.
To me, this is the big promise of Web 2.0 within the enterprise - that any knowledge worker will be able to create powerful interactive applications simply by combining a bunch of AJAX badges into a blog or Wiki post.
Web 2.0 within the enterprise is not about building fancy whiz bang solutions for knowledge workers. Instead, it is about giving those knowledge workers the simple productivity tools that they can use to build their own whiz bang solutions.
Thus, Web2.0 within the enterprise becomes the ultimate platform for building long-tail highly customized ad hoc solutions to business problems.

whoa.. cool badge :)
